Come to me all who are weary and heavy burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

— Jesus, in Matthew 11:28

Not all who wander are lost.

The place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet.

— Frederick Buechner

Help us to connect with, support and celebrate you.

We humans find our way to church for a wide range of reasons. We hope that at South and with the South Church community you find some of what you are seeking. Some of you might be exploring South because of our big and wide LGBTQ+ welcome, having been wounded by the church or religious home of your childhood because you were gay; or being a strong ally and no longer tolerating the homophobia of other churches. Some of you may be seeking company through a lonely season of your life. Many of you are grieving: the death of your child, the loss of a relationship, the loss of home, the loss of a sense of safety and so much more. Some of you may be in the midst of an addiction struggle and seeking encouragement and support to break free, and stay rooted in Hope & Love. Some of you may be just beginning to dabble in the idea of participating in church again after many many many years away. Some of you never have been part of a religious community but feel something that you might call the Spirit tugging at your heart and you want to follow where she leads. Some of you may be parents wanting to help raise your children in Love and Justice. All of these and more are reasons South exists. Come, bring your longings with you. We worship most every Sunday morning at 10am at 45 Maple Street in Springfield and on Zoom.
